Still choosing
I've never used a nasal dilator. Where do I start?
With the 8-piece starter pack. It holds four sizes in two styles, so you find your fit in a few nights instead of guessing and buying twelve of the wrong one.
What's the difference between soft vents, hard cones and soft cones?
Soft silicone vents bend with you and are the easiest to get used to. Hard cones in polypropylene keep their shape for noses that squash soft vents flat. Soft cones sit in between: a gentle tip with a firmer base.
Clip, strip or vent?
Vents and clips work from inside the nostril; strips lift from outside and suit people who can't bear anything inside. If you're unsure, the 30-piece kit has all three.
I snore with my mouth open. Will a vent help?
Probably not on its own. Mouth and throat snoring respond better to a chin strap that keeps the jaw closed. Plenty of people use a strap and a vent together.
First nights
It feels strange. Is that normal?
Yes, for the first few nights. Wear the vent for about half an hour before bed to start, then move to the whole night once your nose stops noticing it.
It keeps falling out.
Go up one size. If the next size presses, try the firmer hard cone in your original size instead.
How do I keep them clean?
Rinse in warm water with a drop of mild soap each morning, let them air dry, and keep them in the case. Swap to a fresh pair every few weeks.
The strip lifts off by morning.
Wash and dry the bridge of your nose first so there's no oil under the adhesive, then press the ends down firmly for a few seconds.
When should I see a doctor instead?
If snoring comes with pauses in breathing, gasping or real daytime exhaustion. Those can be signs of sleep apnea, which needs medical care, not a drawer of gadgets.
Hosting
Which picks are long enough for a martini?
The 4.7-inch styles: pearl tops, knots, flat paddles, and the Christmas and Halloween sets. The 2.5-inch plain, frill and flag picks are for single bites.
Are they safe with food?
Yes. Every pick is natural bamboo, and the frills, flags and parasols are food-safe paper.
Do you print other flags?
Thirteen sets so far, including Home Nations, a World mix and Pride. If yours is missing, tell us: that's how the list grew.
Fixing things
Will the ball needles fit my pump?
They use the standard thread found on hand pumps, Schrader bike-pump heads, compressors and gauges.
Presta, Schrader or Dunlop?
Presta is the slim road-bike valve with a small lock nut; Schrader is the car-tire style; Dunlop is common on city bikes. The brass adapters convert Presta to Schrader; the 18-piece kit covers all three.
Glue patches or glueless?
Glue-and-patch takes longer but bonds more strongly. Glueless patches are faster at the roadside. Either is a way home rather than a permanent repair.
Does the USB Ethernet adapter need drivers?
Not on current Windows or macOS; it's plug-and-play. Very old systems may prompt for one.
